The past 30 years, Sri Lanka has not been green and covered with trees like it once was. In 1990, 37% of Sri Lanka was forestry. This has diminished to 28%, which is below the world average (31%). Forest cover below 25% will have disastrous consequences for biodiversity in Sri Lanka.

Avaera means love and compassion and is built around the mission to make the earth a better place to live. We want to give back to Mother Earth. Mother Earth gives us wonderful fruits with which we make water and therefore we replant coconut trees in Sri Lanka with the help of our customers.

Avaera works together with a volunteer organization that knows everything about trees or coconut tree planting projects. The focus of the local projects is on collecting and spreading seeds, and planting and feeding the coconut trees to adulthood. The maintenance of trees and forests is also part of their versatile range of duties. In the longer term, a new and larger habitat to be created for native, endemic and Ayurvedic plants and animal species. This increases the green awareness.

Part of our profit from B2B sales in the Hospitality industry is invested in planting trees. We want to make this mission tangible by breaking it down into coconut trees. Our customers can participate directly and help to achieve our Planting Trees Mission when purchasing our products.

2020 2 million trees

The goal of the local foundation is to plant 2 million trees by the end of 2020. Avaera would like to help achieve their tree mission.
